My name is Ruby Werman and I'm a senior. I've been tutoring in The Learning Center for two years, and I've been an in class tutor in Ms. Finn's class since the start of senior year. I became a tutor because I love helping students feel confident about their work. My favorite subjects to tutor are Biology and Calculus because I had great experiences in those classes and feel really confident about the material. Aside from tutoring I play on the varsity tennis and lacrosse teams, participate in model united nations and math team. I would recommend becoming a tutor because it’s a great way to give back to the HP community and strengthen your own grasp on a subject. For students meeting with a tutor for the first time: be clear on what you don't understand! We don't want to waste your time going over material you actually understand or miss covering something more important. See you in the LC!
Here's what teachers are saying about Ruby:
Ms. Finn, who recommended Ruby says, “I think Ruby Werman is exceptional. She graciously attends my Algebra II class regularly and patiently works with my students. Each week I notice more kids naturally reaching out to her, without any prompting from me.” Ruby has been an in class tutor for Ms. Finn’s Algebra II class this semester.
