Hi! My name is Abby Reinstein and I am a junior. This is my second year tutoring and my first year in class tutoring. I became a tutor because of my desire to help other students succeed. My freshman year I struggled in physics, so I sought help from tutors in the LC and they helped immensely and inspired me to become a tutor. My favorite subject to tutor is math because I am able to teach students exactly how to get the correct answer and watching them get excited when they are able to do it themselves is truly rewarding, but I also tutor in English and chemistry. Out of school, I am a member of Girl's code and Key Club. I would recommend becoming a tutor because the experience is extremely rewarding. It allows you to connect with students and watch them grow. Lastly, if you are unsure about coming to see a tutor know that none of us are here to scare you, we are here as a resource to help.
Here's what Mrs. Tobin has to say about Abby:
Abby has been such an asset to my Algebra 2 classroom this year and she has devoted a lot of time to helping us since the start of the school year. My students respect her as a peer leader and they also value her humor and ability to relate to them on a personal level. Abby frequently shares about her day and asks students about their other classes in an effort to get to know them better. She is a great teacher and is comfortable exploring different approaches to a problem which has made my students feel comfortable making mistakes and has helped to build their confidence as math students. She has been a huge help to me and has served as almost another co-teacher in the room as I'm able to rely on her when I've been absent. We all look forward to having her with us each day!
