My name is Josh Gross, and I am a junior. I started tutoring in the TLC at the beginning of this year, but I've been doing other forms of tutoring since 8th grade. I really enjoy tutoring because I like explaining the "why" aspect of questions, and meeting other kids from other grades and classes. My favorite subjects to tutor are math and physics, but I'm happy to help with anything! These subjects tend to have really interesting answers, and "discovering" them is a great way to learn the material.
I love playing the saxophone, and I participate in the Jazz Ensemble, Marching Giants, HPHS Wind Symphony, Pit Orchestra, STUNTS, and Pep band. I'm also a proud member of the HPHS Science Olympiad team.
If you're nervous about approaching me or any other tutor, don't sweat it! Just come prepared with some questions you want to ask, and don’t be afraid to ask for clarity. Everyone is here to help with whatever questions you might have.
Here's what teachers are saying about Josh:
Ms. Maita, who recommended Josh, says that he "always introduces himself to the student he is working with and takes the time to get to know them a little bit. Josh is also patient and thorough during his tutoring session by checking for understanding."
