My name is Sophie Seligman and I am a junior. I have been tutoring in The Learning Center for the past two years, after I was recommended by a teacher and enthusiastically accepted! My favorite subjects to tutor in would have to be Math, Science, and Spanish, but I love tutoring in other subjects as well. I enjoy tutoring in these the most because I used to find them so baffling, but as soon as I started asking more questions, I finally got the hang of them, and it feels great being able to help others who are in the same situation that I was once in. Aside from tutoring, I participate in other activities such as Art Club, Girls Code, I am on the student leadership board for FOCUS on the Arts for Creative Writing, and I babysit 3-4 days a week after school. I would definitely recommend tutoring to others because it is a lot of fun and feels so rewarding. After a vigorous tutoring session, I can’t help but walk away with a smile on my face! If you have never met with a tutor before, do not worry: feel free to come over and ask us for help! There is no such thing as a bad question! Just remember to let us know exactly what you are struggling with, so that we can make sure that by the end of the session, you understand the material much better. If you ever need help, I am in The Learning Center during second period on both Mondays and Tuesdays. Come and stop by!
